PRODUCTS, DEVICES AND STYLING

Can Indigo products be sensitizing?

Indigo products have received the Quality Certificate of the Independent Dermatest ® Institute, which confirms that our products are safe for health. Our formulas are developed by specialists and all the ingredients are carefully selected to minimize the risk of allergic reactions. Unfortunately, despite the utmost care in choosing the compositions, there is a possibility that particularly vulnerable people may have unwanted reaction to any of the components used in cosmetic products.

Where are Indigo Gel Polishes manufactured?

Most Indigo products, including our Gel Polishes and the SPA series, are produced in the European Union. The exceptions are auxiliary preparations that we produce in the United States. Detailed information about the place of production can be found on each packaging and more specifically on the product information label.

My nails are terribly weak. Which products should I choose?

The product must be selected according to the Customer’s needs, if:

  • Protein Base – nails need to be strengthened, stiffened and slightly lengthened; stylization should be dissolvable in remover
  • Keratin Base – for very damaged and splitting nails. This gel base with keratin molecules do not dissolve in remover. It is ideal as a base for gels and as an independent styling covered only with a top
  • Manicure with Shea butter – perfect solution for customers who want to take a break from a gel manicure. Rubbing Shea butter makes the nails naturally glow and deeply nourished.
  • Shea Elixir – ideal product for finishing the manicure for each client
  • Serum Myrrh or Serum Jojobą – for daily care of nails and cuticles

Why the product may not harden?

  • too short curing time
  • the lamp may be too weak for the product
  • inadequate lamp for the product, for example: Take Your Time gel or Builder Clear cured in a classic 36 W Lamp, will not reach 100% of its advantages
  • omitting or replacing products in the styling scheme according to Indigo
  • too thick layer of the product that does not harden in 100%
  • too thin layer of the product, which does not allow proper application of next layers of stylization
  • incorrectly held hand in the lamp
  • too weak lamp for the product type or its pigmentation
  • too short curing time

What can cause nails cracking?

  • too elastic base in combination with too hard top, Liquid Base + Dry Top for example.
  • the gel nails built by Easy Shape Builder in combination with Dry Top
  • double layer of Protein Base or Keratin Base but with the excess of the nail file
  • too thick or too thin top layer
  • too long curing time of the top – with a significant increase in curing time, gel top may become more brittle
  • application of Shine On gel on improperly made gel nails
  • applying a double layer of the product without dispersion

Why can nail polish become matte?

Each of traditional nail polishes should be applied on a base such as vinyl base or diamond base, secured with a top such as Nano Top Coat or Matt Effect Top or top from the professional Indigo line – Finish Top Coat, which will protect the nails like a protective armor.

Without the application of the top, the styling has the right to be matte and less durable.

What can cause shrinking, wrinkling and bad spreading of the color?

  • too thick base layer, which during the polymerization in the lamp gives off too much dispersion – this causes the color to be romoved from the free edge
  • the product is not partially hardened - the color will behave similarly to the too thick base layer, each subsequent layer of the product will be harder to overlap and the styling will be very unstable
  • too thick layer of color, the pigment makes the light of the lamp can not penetrate into the deeper layers of the product and hardens them only partially
  • improperly prepared nail tile - any improperly made styling layer can affect the subsequent stages of manicure
  • a product unmatched to the lamp, for example: the Summer by Natalia Siwiec collection, Mr.White or Mr.Black should be hardened in a traditional UV lamp with no other bulbs than Sylvania

Why can the base become rubber and fall off from the nail?

  • badly prepared nail tile, for example: 220/280 gradation
  • using wring Cleaner, for example: Shea Super Shine
  • no primer or incorrect use
  • too fast base application on the primer, immediately after applying it on the plate
  • too thick base layer - the product does not harden in 100%
  • combining products of different manufacturers in one stylization

Why colors may change after applying the top?

This is due to the use of an inadequate top in relation to the color. When applying Top Pro White on pastel shades or white nails, they will get the depth of color, but the same top applied, for example on red, will make it cooler. The effect is caused by a very large number of UV agents that are dedicated to bright nails.

When using Shine On UV gel or Dry Top top which do not contain UV agents, bright shades can be changed by a slight yellowing of the color. In the case of darker products, the lack of UV agents does not change colors.

Why I can not find my hand cream?

The Indigo offer includes a wide range of fragrances but not all fragrances are available in creams and lotions. The exceptions are the most frequently chosen Seventh Heaven and Raspberry Love, other fragrances are sold either in the form of a body lotion or in a hand cream.

Why I can not dissolve my styling in Remover?

The basic factor influencing the problems with dissolving any styling is the top - in the case of Dry Top, which is insoluble in the beater, even after 20 minutes the nails will remain practically intact. The color used is also very important - because the same product names are found in different types of products.

The time at which the products dissolve also depends on the layer of product used, the more or more abundant product layers, the longer the dissolution time.

Gels for decorating and building gels are in the same packaging but the capacity is different. Why?

Because building gels are sold in 5ml capacity and color gels in 8ml capacity. The larger packaging is intended to prevent leakage of gels from the packaging.

Why mirror dusts are sold in smaller packages than other dusts?

Mirror dusts are very efficient and to get a mirror effect on the nails, you need just a minimal amount of the product. In the case of dusts rubbed into the dispersion layer, their use is higher, therefore the package also contains more product.

Which dusts should I choose for the very beginning?

The most recommended and popular dusts are the Mermaid Effect and the Mermaid Effect Black II. However, Glammer Silver and Metal Manix Multi Chrome are most popular mirror effects.

Why decorating with mirror dusts is unstable?

  • Wrong styling order. For example: Dry Top dust Dry Top
  • Protecting with the wrong top – the most recommended is Wet Look top
  • Badly protected free edge
  • Flooded cuticles
  • Too flexible nails under hard products without dispersion, for example: Ultra Strong Base + Dry Top or Arte Brillante

How to properly decorate with mirror dusts?

  1. push away or/and remove cuticles
  2. smooth the nail plate
  3. degreasing the nail with a cotton swab soaked in traditional Cleaner
  4. applying Free Acid Primer when we have a normal plate or we make the stylization for the first time (recommended up to 90% of the nail tiles). It leaves a slightly sticky layer and after about 40-60 seconds we put the base (we do not wait any longer, because the primer will lose its advantages)
  5. for more difficult or more demanding nail tiles, apply Acid Primer, which completely evaporates from the surface of the nail
  6. apply the first thin layer of Protein Base and cure for 30 seconds in LED lamp or for 2 minutes in UV lamp
  7. the second layer should be slightly thicker, to give the tile a nice shape - especially when it is naturally very flat. Cure for 30 seconds in a LED lamp or for 2 minutes in UV lamp. It is worth to remember that the time is worth prolonging due to the amount of product on the nail.
  8. remove the dispersion with a non-dust swab soaked in Cleaner
  9. evenly matt the whole surface of the base
  10. clean the base again with Cleaner
  11. Apply two thin layers of Mr.Black color – every layer should be cured for 10 seconds in LED lamp or for 2 minutes in UV lamp with Sylvania bulbs.

Apply one coat of Arte Brillante Black Poison, cure for 30 seconds in LED lamp or for 2 minutes in UV lamp.

Protect nails with Dry Top (insoluble in Remover) and cure for 30 seconds in LED lamp or for 2 minutes in UV lamp.

  12. rub in a small amount of Metal Manix Chameleon Butterfly dust exactly in the entire nail (pushing harder we get a more mirrored effect)
  13. remove the excess of dust with a delicate brush

  14. cover with a Wet Look gel top ideal for all mirror dusts or use a 3D Gloss top

  15. STYLIZATION COVERED AGAIN WITH DRY TOP WILL WIPE OFF AND CRACK AT THE ENDS – IT MAY HAPPEN BECAUSE OF TOO THICK LAYER OF THE PRODUCT, WHICH CREATES A GLASS SURFACE

  16. rinse with Cleaner Super Shine after waiting 2 minutes after removing the hand from the lamp

What are the types of primers and which one should I choose?

Free Acid Primer (acrylic acetate) - basic primer for almost every nail tile (90%), obligatory at the beginning to achieve durability according to the Indigo scheme. It leaves a sticky layer on which we can apply a base after about 40-60 seconds.

Acid Primer (meta-acrylic acid) - a primer for special tasks, dedicated to more demanding nail tiles, when Free Acid Primer does not give styling durability, for example at problematic plates or during hormonal changes.

What is the difference between Ultra Strong base and Liquid Base?

Ultra Strong Base – is a gel polish base that is not soluble in Removal, dedicated to a more demanding plate, on which other bases do not want to stick. It has very high adhesion to the damaged tile and due to the fact that it is insoluble in the remover, we do not have to remove it completely, but only to refill the regrowth.

Liquid Base – the most fluid gel polish base, gives the effect of nails that look like a traditional nail polish, it is very efficient and soluble in a Remover.

In case of both products, it is always necessary to take off the excess of dispersion from them - we do not remove it completely!

We can do it in two ways:

  • by using a dry and clean gel brush and gently rubbing the dispersion layer – the excess remains on the brush
  • by using dust-free wadding swabs

If we do not take off the excess dispersion, the color will wipe out or air bubbles appear and the color application will be very difficult or almost impossible.

What is the difference between Gel Polish and Gel Brush?

Gel Polish - flexible, soluble in Remover, we can apply on a traditional base (Removable Base) or base for problematic tiles (Liquid Base, Ultra Strong Base) and of course on Protein Base. The stylization can be finished using any gel top, but in the case of Dry Top it is necessary to apply a double layer of Protein Base.

Gel Brush - a hard, insoluble in Remover, that can be applied only on well hardened gel nails, acrylic (after applying Shine On) and a double layer of Protein Base or a double layer of Keratin Base. The styling can be finished with a gel top, for example Wet Look or other tops (Removable Top Coat, Pro White Top Coat - for bright colors, 3D Gloss Top Coat - universal, Dry Top Coat - top without dispersion layer, insoluble in Remover).

What is the difference between Arte Brillante and Nail Art Gel?

Arte Brillante – hard, colored gels perfect for decorations, do not leave the dispersion layer, created for the Micropainting technique. Very strong pigmented, even with thin lines they retain their color but you can only create flat ornaments due to the consistency similar to oil paint.

Also ideal for all mirrored dusts.

This product should be applied on a minimum double layer of Protein Base or Keratin Base - otherwise product may crack.

Nail Art Gel – dense gels made for 3D decorations and ornaments, leave a dispersion layer. These products are very strong pigmented so they are ideal for expressive ombre. Perfect for the One Stroke or Zhostovo nail art technique and for delicate wedding laces.

Which Swarovski crystals should I choose?

We can divide them by size - where ss3, ss4 and ss5 (the smallest ones) are dedicated to natural nails, and larger sizes, like ss8, ss9 or ss10 are perfect for extended nails.

We can also divide them by opalescence effect - the most classic crystals are pure silver with the "Crystal SS" mark while "Crystal AB SS" are opalescent multicolored crystals in many base colors.

for example, Aquamarine AB SS 5 - it's gently blue crystal with a multicolored, iridescent glow but Amethyst SS5 - it's dark-pink crystal that only shimmers with its shade.

Does the Swarovski crystals package always contain 50 pieces?

Yes, regardless of the size, crystals from ss3 to ss10 are packed in the same way and each package contains exactly 50 pieces of crystals. The only exception are larger crystals, which are packed in smaller quantities.

Can I combine Indigo products with products from other manufacturers?

The guarantee of achieving the desired effect and maintaining the maximum durability of styling is making it with Indigo brand products. Our formulas are fully compatible with each other. They complement each other, they ensure the highest quality and safety. If you combine Indigo products with products from other brands, we can no longer guarantee the same results.

How to keep INDIGO brushes in the perfect condition?

  • gel brushes and Nail Art 002,004,005,006, One Stroke I, II i  III brushes – should be cleaned in colorless gel products, the base and the top will be perfect for that.
  • Nail Art 003 brush is dedicated to acrylic paints should be cleaned in water, with which acrylic paints are processed.
  • acrylic brushes - you should take care of them every time you use them, because acrylic, which stays on the bristles for a longer time, will cause permanent damage. The Brush Cleaner can be used temporarily to help restore the brush to a good condition, but only when the acrylic ball is still fresh.

When will INDIGO brushes claims be ignored and why?

  • Brushes used for gels and gel polishes should not be cleaned in Cleaner, because it causes the bristles to dry out, and consequently gradually damages them.
  • Using the same brush interchangeably with acrylic gel and acrylic paint reduces the working area due to the inability to perfectly clean the bristles.
  • Partially hardened or broken bristles.

Which file bit will be perfect at beginning?

The basic criterion on the basis of which accessories should be selected is ergonomics. The Indigo offer includes both very precise file bits for combined manicure and larger file bits for general leveling and smoothingt. The shape and type of the file bit should be adapted to the taste and experience of the stylist. The most recommended file bits at the beginning are:

  • for cuticles - Indigo Nail Bit Cuticle 3 and Indigo Nail Bit Cuticle 4
  • for taking off gel polish of natural nails or double layer of protein base - Indigo Nail Bit I or Indigo Nail Bit II
  • for taking off gel polish manicure - Indigo Nail Bit III or Indigo Nail Bit Cuticle 5
  • for taking off very hard gel layers and acrylic - Indigo Nai Bit Style 1 or Indigo Nail Bit Style 2 (depending on the preferred shape)
  • Indigo Nail Bit Ceramic 1 is dedicted to experienced stylists

Tools made of surgical steel (nippers, scissors, pushers or nail bits) - the most common mistakes during sterilization and disinfection.

  • too long sterilization or disinfection of tools
  • too high concentration or improper measures
  • too much pressure in the autoclave
  • sterilization of wet or not fully dried tools at high temperatures
  • wrong time or temperature during sterilization
  • using tap water or contaminated water to the steam autoclave, the process should be done using demineralised water to make the process work properly
  • using "freshly" prepared disinfectants for incorrectly storing tools

Which program should be used for correct sterilization of surgical steel tools?

121'C, 1 atmoshphere (40 minutes)

134'C, 2 atmospheres (35 minutes)

Nippers, pushers or nail bits can become black when the sterilization process is carried out incorrectly.

What is the Dual Led technology? What is the difference between Dual Led and traditional LED or UV lamp?

Dual Led is a combination of LED and UV light ranges at each point of the lamp, that's why all products from our offer are hardened in it - especially those that did not harden 100% in a traditional LED lamp, for example Take Your Time, Builder Clear or Perfect Base.

How long should I cure a particular product in different types of lamps?
